Venice Carnival 2012 will be devoted to the dramatization of daily life, as announced today by Artistic Director, David Rampello:
"This year's theme is intended to be particularly attentive to the improvement of the city we want to point to a Carnival where people enjoy and want to rediscover the city. A Carnival active, in which we expect to provide the stimulus for the development of the creativity of those taking part in our event. The essence of the Carnival is the disguise, and the theatre is the representation of the human comedy and its infinite character. Everyone plays multiple roles in their own lives and the Carnival can magically sum them up thanks to the condition of extra-territoriality of social roles imposed or incurred, we resume the ancient custom whereby the time of the Carnival coincided historically with the town theatre season.
