The Venice marathon is a race that takes place annually in the month of October over the classic distance of the marathon: 42.195 km departing from Stra and arriving in Venice. The Venice Marathon was the first marathon recognized by the Italian Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) and inserted in the international calendar of the IAAF.

The departure is from Stra, country, near Padua, famous for the beautiful Villa Pisani, the route then winds through the towns of Fiesso d’Artico, Dolo and Mira, on the Brenta Riviera is famous for its beautiful villas and reaching so Mestre where, after going through the city, you start crossing the Ponte della Libertà that leads to Venice. The runners up and down several bridges over the canals of Venice, until the crossing of the Grand Canal from the tip of Health in San Marco, on a bridge of boats specially built for the occasion. Arrival is located in Riva Sette Martyrs.
